OEM battery MOQ & lead time

MOQ and lead time are set by production economics and container logistics, not by negotiation alone. Here is how they work.

Short answer: OEM battery MOQ is normally one 20ft container because full-container-load shipping lowers unit cost, while lead time covers order confirmation, production and pre-shipment testing. Mixed models can be consolidated into one container, and confirming specifications early reduces sampling delays.

What drives MOQ

Battery MOQ is usually tied to a container load, because shipping cost per unit collapses at FCL. Chengguang Energy’s reference MOQ is 1 × 20ft container (approx. 600–800 units, model dependent).

What drives lead time

Lead time covers order confirmation, production and pre-shipment testing. Chengguang Energy’s reference lead time is 30–45 days after order confirmation; custom-label orders add sampling time.

Container economics in one line

Unit cost drops when you fill a 20ft container because the fixed export and freight overhead is spread across more batteries. Once the container is full, adding more models to that same load usually keeps unit cost lower than splitting into part loads.

Send one complete volume and model plan in your OEM battery RFQ so the manufacturer can build the container efficiently.

Lead-acid is heavy: the container math

Lead-acid batteries are dense, so a 20ft container usually reaches its weight limit before its volume limit. MOQ therefore follows the container rather than a marketing number. Mixing several models into one FCL spreads that weight and freight across more line items, which usually keeps unit cost lower than splitting part loads.

Chengguang Energy’s reference MOQ of 1 × 20ft container (approx. 600–800 units, model dependent) is a container-logic term, not a per-model minimum. Send the full model mix in the OEM battery RFQ so the load can be planned correctly.

Why lead-acid has no seasonal cycle

Lead-acid production is not tied to a harvest or seasonal raw-material window. The manufacturing line can run through the year, which keeps lead time more stable than seasonal categories. For an importer, that means a confirmed production lead time is a planning variable, not a harvest risk.

Use that stability when you set the volume plan in the OEM battery RFQ or walk through the OEM program phases.
